Ways To Avoid Head Lice


The most trending thing going round now is Head Lice. Some people have a misconception that head lice can only invade long hair. However, this is not true as people with short hair cut also complain of lice. Head Lice is very irritating and can give you scalp sore as a result of excessive scratching.

People who have head lice do not have poor hygiene as lice can invade anybody’s hair. Lice do not transmit any diseases but it only sucks the host's blood which can lead to excessive blood lose.

It is very important you know how to keep lice away from your hair wether your hair is long or short. Below are some of the steps to avoid lice from your hair:

1. Do not share your comb with “anybody” –  If you observe, anybody is in quote because most people don’t know that they have Head Lice until it starts falling from their hair. Using such people’scomb may introduce lice into your hair so, it is very important that you have your personal comb for yourself alone.

2. Aviod where someone is combing his/her hair as lice may fall from the person’s hair without knowing and mistakenly enter your hair.

3. Don’t cut or make your hair in every salon – Most people with lice today contacted it from the where they went to cut or make their hair. It is very important you go to the salon with your personal comb and also have a particular salon/person who make or cut your hair. Always ensure the clippers to be used in cutting your hair is thoroughly treated before using it.

4. Wash your hair regularly with hot water – Hot water do kill eggs of lice and growing lice. Also apply Olive oil after washing as this will disrupt the respiration of the lice thereby killing them.

5. Also for those who have lice – Try home made remedies like using kerosene mixed with camphor. Apply this to hair and cover with a shower cap to suffocate the lice to death. Wash with hot water and shampoo after about 30-45mins. Also apply Olive oil and shear butter.
